2009 CNTA Golf Tournament

Rained all week ... so we worried about our annual event. But it turned into a beautiful day on Friday, May 8th, so we couldn't ruin our record of having perfect weather for our tournament!

The tournament sponsor again this year was B&W Technical Services, with SRNS-SRS sponsoring lunch; Shaw AREVA MOX Services sponsoring prizes; and Energy Solutions sponsoring the beverages. Ron Schroder and the golf committee did their usual excellent job bring everything together. Mindy Mets organized the volunteers who took care of registration, ticket sales, and other areas. The beverage team, headed by Kim Cauthen, made sure the coolers were well-stocked and cold.

After the players returned to the clubhouse, we had a great lunch and proceeded to draw the 10 grand prizes. Among them were gift baskets with a nice bottle of wine or spa, golf, or dinner certificates. Among the grand prizes were a week at Myrtle Beach (at Sheraton at Broadway at the Beach) courtesy of Walt and Paula Joseph and a week at Edisto courtesy of Craig Williamson. Package prizes included a golf club, golf at one of the area clubs, and dinner at a nice restaurant. Many players went home with golf shirts, umbrellas, or dinner, movie, or golf certificates.

2009 CNTA Golf Winners

First Place winners were Ricky Boyleston, Brian Normal, Bob Pedley, and Dave Wingate. They went home with engraved trophies, a sleeve of balls, and wine!

Second Place went to the "Fun Guys" (DOE) team made up of Ron Bartholomew, Lewan Belton, Lee Hopkins, and Ray Fulton. Second-place winners received gift certificates from the Houndslake Pro Shop, a sleeve of balls, and a bottle of wine.

In Last Place was the team from PermaFix: Renee Echols, Jacob Nims, Tammy Monday, and Kelly Hunter. They received certificates for lessons from the Houndslake Country Club Pro, a sleeve of balls, and a beer. After a lesson with the Pro, they may be hard to beat next year!
