2013 CNTA Golf Tournament

For yet one more year we could celebrate good weather, so Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness reports another great golf tournament! The tourney proceeded on Friday, May 10th at Houndslake Country Club in Aiken with 26 teams. Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services - Savannah River was again the primary sponsor. We are proud to announce that we raised $17,000 to assist in our education mission.

Candid shots of both excitement and disappointment is available The 2013 CNTA Golf Photo Gallery. Many thanks to Larry Adkinson, who wore his shutter-finger to the bone gathering the photos!

First Place (Low Net) was grabbed by the B&W Technical Services Team #2: Ed Wannermacher, Fred Garner, Jeff George, and Loong Yong. Each player received a $40 Houndslake gift certificate, an engraved curved-class trophy from Trophies Unlimited, a nice bottle of wine from Wine World, and golf balls.

2013 2nd Place Net

Last Place was endured by the Newport News Nuclear, Inc. #1 team: Pete Diakun, J.C. Wallace, Kathy Lewis, and Jeannette Hyatt. Each player received a gift certificate for a free lesson with the Houndslake Pro and a can of beer to ease the pain.

Closest-to-the-Pin Prizes were awarded to these players: Hole #3 - Colby Kight of the Aiken Technical College Rad Con team, sponsored by Shaw AREVA MOX Services; Hole #8 - Chuck Bernhard of the B&W Technical Services #1 team; Hole #13 - Bob Eble for AREVA Federal Systems; and Hole #17 - Clint Wolfe, bringing honor home to CNTA.

Thank You To Our Many Sponsors

The first year that B&W Technical Services became the Tournament Sponsor was 2005. At that time they were called BWXT. We've come a long way since then, and want to give our most sincere thanks to their continuing to be our main Tournament Sponsor.

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions graciously served as Lunch Sponsor.

Newport News Nuclear acted as Beverage Sponsor.

AREVA Federal Systems and Shaw AREVA MOX Services were prize sponsors: making it possible for many nice gifts to be given away.

Craig Williamson sponsored the Grand Prize!
