Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness
1st Annual Video Contest
CNTA is pleased to announce that the winners of the 1st Annual Video Contest are a team of students from Richmond County Technical Careers Magnet School, who produced "The Nuclear Truth" - a short video story about many of the myths surrounding nuclear energy.
The team of eight students will be recognized at the school's student awards ceremony and will be awarded a Go-Pro Camera for their school.

BACKGROUND
Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness (CNTA), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, sponsors a video contest for students in Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell, Burke, Columbia, and Richmond County and homeschooled students. Current high school students (grades 9-12) in these counties and current CNTA members' family, regardless of their county of enrollment, were invited to submit a 2-5 minute video on debunking nuclear myths. Example topic areas are:
- Energy production
- Energy disasters
- Nuclear material transportation
- Nuclear material storage
- Nuclear medicine
- Food irradiation
- Nuclear research
- Radiation dose
- Tritium
- Plutonium
The competition is judged by staff and general membership representatives of CNTA.
The video contest winner(s) win a GoPro Camera for their school. Contest winners will be recognized at the school's student-awards ceremeony and the annual Edward Teller Lecture/Banquet held in late 2017.
The purpose of the CNTA Video Contest is to promote a better understanding of nuclear technology among high school students. It also provides an incentive for the development of creative, research, written, and communication skills that are vital to continued success in education and in the workforce.

February 10, 2017: Deadline date for video submittal. The video submittal must include a completed Official Student Entry Form and Abstract. Electronic submittal is preferred.
