The 2005 CNTA Edward Teller Lecture and Banquet

CNTA's 14th Annual Edward Teller Lecture/Banquet was another success! Dr. Frank "Skip" Bowman, President and CEO of Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), was our guest speaker for this year's event. Dr. Bowman's lecture was well received by the filled ballroom at The Augusta Towers and Convention Center. NEI is the nuclear energy industry's Washington DC-based policy organization, representing 270 domestic and international corporations involved in nuclear energy and related technologies. It was a real pleasure for CNTA to host such a distinguished and notable speaker.

A transcript of Dr. Bowman's remarks is posted here: "America's Nuclear Revival".

Dr. Todd Crawford presented the 2005 Fred C. Davison Distinguished Scientist Award to Dr. George Wicks, Consulting Scientist at the Savannah River National Laboratory. Bob Pedde, President of Washington Savannah River Company, introduced the recipient of the 2005 Robert Maher Memorial Scholarship, Mr. James Weathers, a junior at Georgia Tech.

Jeff Allison, DOE Manager of Savannah River Site, presented an engraved book called "The Many Faces of Aiken, A Pictorial History" to Dr. Bowman as a rememberance of his visit to Aiken and our lecture.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our many sponsors, our CNTA membership, and supporters of the 2005 lecture. We are already working on the 2006 event. DVDs of the lecture are available for a small charge; please call the CNTA office if you would like to purchase one.
